On Thursday, March 7, 2019, in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a conference was held on the occasion of the Eight March, International Women’s Day, titled: “Traveling through time:We were, we are, we will be”. The main goal of the conference was to highlight and reminisce about the success of women in BiH, ever since the beginnings of their participation and contributions to public sphere in BiH. The organizers of the conference were the Westminster Foundation for Democracy in BiH (WFD BiH), which, in cooperation with the Agency for Gender Equality of BiH (ARS BiH) of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, invited the IUS SAGE Team to be part of this successful and inspirational story.
The conference was attended by SAGE project assistant Mirza Rastoder. One of the participants and speakers and a prime example of a successful young woman was IUS alumna Lana Prlić.
Mirza Rastoder met in an informal setting with the first secretary of the Swedish ambassador to BiH, Mr. HE Johan Norqvist. SAGE assistant briefly presented the SAGE project and IUS as the only educational institution with the Gender Equality Plan in the region. Mr Noqvist is in charge of Human Rights, the Development of a Democracy and Gender Equality, and expressing their enthusiasm for the SAGE project, called for a possible cooperation between the IUS and the Swedish Embassy.
